Making Impact through Design & Development

Over the summer of 2025, I worked as a Design Engineer Intern at Liberty Mutual Insurance. I worked as a hybrid designer and developer, working on the Enterprise UI team, a team focused on designing and developing the internal design system for the company. I increased the library by over 30%, singlehandedly creating components from 0 to 1. I communicated through Slack and Jira, researched through Lucidcharts, designed in Figma, developed in React, Typescript, and SCSS, and deployed to Storybook.

What I Learned

Over the summer, I got an in-depth understanding of design systems, design tokens, design patterns, and design principles. Figuring out how I could design both scalable yet reliable designs in both Figma and React was both challenging and rewarding.
